Planning the year ahead in Ballyknocken
Our first team offsite took us out of Dublin to agree the roadmap together.

This summer the whole Narrative team went to Ballyknocken for our first offsite. We now plan to do this twice a year: time together away from day-to-day delivery, with the roadmap as the main agenda.
How we used the time
The founders set out the strategic context: where the company is heading and the constraints we are working within. The team then challenged the assumptions behind the plan. The aim is for everyone to leave with a clear understanding of the next priorities and who owns each one.
Why we do it
Ownership works when people understand the reasoning behind a plan and have a say in it. A few days away from the usual rhythm makes that conversation easier, and gives the team time together outside work.

Why Narrative runs on headless software
Most of our working software is now operated by AI on our behalf. That changes which tools we choose, and it points to where business software is heading.
Small business owners are taking their money questions to AI
Recent surveys suggest owners increasingly turn to general-purpose AI for financial guidance. For banks and lenders, the question is whether they take part in those conversations.
